1. Microphone Audio Stream Processing

AllTuners.com requires microphone access solely to measure the fundamental vibration frequency (pitch in Hertz) of your instrument's strings in real time.

When you grant microphone permission in your browser:

• The raw audio PCM samples are passed directly into the HTML5 Web Audio API's AnalyserNode within your browser.
• Our autocorrelation and McLeod Pitch Method (MPM) algorithms compute pitch within temporary, reusable typed arrays in client-side RAM.
• Audio buffers are overwritten continuously and never written to disk or transmitted across any network connection.
• The microphone input is never connected to an output speaker or WebRTC socket, completely eliminating acoustic feedback loops.
• When you click "Stop Tuner", navigate away from the tuner, or close the browser tab, all audio tracks are explicitly closed and released via stream.getTracks().forEach(track => track.stop()).

2. Cookies, Tracking & Analytics

We do not use invasive third-party advertising cookies, fingerprinting libraries, or cross-site tracking scripts.

We only store non-identifiable, functional user preferences on your local device using standard browser localStorage:

• Theme Preference: Remembers your Stage Mode (dark theme) or Light Mode selection.
• Tuning Calibration: Remembers your customized concert pitch (e.g., standard A4 = 440 Hz or alternate A4 = 432 Hz).
• Practice Settings: Remembers your metronome BPM, time signature, and last selected instrument preset.

3. Progressive Web App (PWA) Offline Storage

To allow musicians to tune their instruments backstage, on tour buses, and in rehearsal basements with no cellular or Wi-Fi reception, AllTuners.com implements a Service Worker.

The Service Worker caches static site files (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Web Audio synthesis engines, and icons) on your device via the standard Cache Storage API. This offline cache contains only static application assets and never contains personal data.

4. Third-Party Services & CDNs

To deliver fast loading times globally and high legibility, we load open-source typography (Inter and JetBrains Mono) via Google Fonts. When your browser requests font assets, your IP address is sent to Google's CDN solely to serve the font files.

5. GDPR & CCPA/CPRA Compliance Rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA):

• Right to Know & Access: We do not collect personal identifiers, email addresses, or account profiles. If you submit a feedback note via our contact form, that information is used solely to respond to your inquiry.
• Right to Deletion: You may request the deletion of any communications sent through our contact form at any time.
• No Sale or Sharing of Personal Data: We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for commercial or advertising purposes.

6. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

AllTuners.com is a free musical education utility suitable for musicians of all ages, including students learning to play guitar in school music programs. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
